Ubisoft Singapore is officially bringing Edward Kenway back to the Caribbean on July 9, 2026. This isn’t just a simple port of the 2013 classic. It’s a full remake titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The announcement confirms it’s launching on Ubisoft+ alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This means you’ll have access to it on day one through the subscription service, which is great news for anyone who likes to keep their library flexible across different platforms.
Ubisoft Singapore Rebuilds the Caribbean in Anvil
Ubisoft Singapore is leading the project and they’ve started from scratch using the latest version of the Anvil engine. I remember how much I loved the original version on the Nintendo Wii U and Xbox 360, but seeing it running with modern visuals is something else entirely.
The development team promises a faithful recreation that adds new narrative content to fill in gaps from the original story. You’ll still sail the seas as a rebellious captain, but the world should look and act much more like a modern title with improved draw distances and better weather effects.

Fights Built Around Parrying and Better Stealth
The combat is getting a heavy overhaul. The original game relied heavily on a counter-heavy style that could sometimes feel a bit too automatic. This version moves to a combat routine built around parrying that sounds much more involved and reactive. Stealth and parkour movement have also been improved to match the standards of recent entries like Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
You’ll still run into legendary figures like Blackbeard and Anne Bonny, and you can expect a reimagined track from Woodkid to help set the mood. I’m genuinely curious to hear how that new music fits into the naval sections when you’re out on the open sea.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Pre-order Details and Special Editions
If you decide to pre-order, you’ll get Blackbeard’s Crimson Pack. That includes a new costume for Edward Kenway along with a set of swords and pistols to use early on. Ubisoft is offering three different versions of the game. The Standard Edition is just the base game, but the Deluxe Edition adds the Master Assassin Character and Naval packs for extra customization.
If you’re a collector, the physical Collector’s Edition comes with a figurine of Edward, a metal brooch, an exclusive SteelBook, and a cloth map. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9, 2026, and you’ll find it on the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
