PSN Outage Feb 7th 2025

PSN Under Maintenance

Update Feb 8th 2025 7:09 Eastern: The PSN outage has now fully been resolved.

The PlayStation Network has now been offline for approximately 18 hours since yesterday evening, disabling several features on PlayStation as a result.

PlayStation support have been fast at acknowledging the issue on socials, but has yet to provide more details concerning the outage.

At this time, it is not possible to play online games, stream games from the cloud or play installed digital games on a secondary console that requires account validation when starting games.

The PlayStation Portal is also prompting users to log back into their device, which is currently not possible to accomplish at the moment.

Most features were not available on the mobile app last night, but were restored sometime overnight as it is now possible to browse games and launch a PlayStation Party chat through the app.

It is also not possible to pair a new disk drive to a console while the service is down.

Digital games can still be played on the account primary console as it is provided with a special security token that does not require online verification every time a game is launched.

It is not yet known how long the outage will last and what caused it. Hopefully this is nothing like the 2011 PSN outage where services were disrupted for 23 days.
