Today, Remedy Entertainment is releasing a free Anniversary Update for Alan Wake 2, marking nearly a year since the game’s initial launch. This update brings a range of player-requested features, enhancements, and accessibility improvements to the game.
Among the key additions is the ability to invert the X (horizontal) axis for both mouse and controller, in addition to the previously available option for the Y (vertical) axis. Remedy highlights that this feature addresses both player preference and accessibility needs.
PlayStation users will see updates specifically for the DualSense controller. The update introduces gyro aiming, allowing players to adjust motion controls, including sensitivity and axis settings. Additionally, haptic feedback, which was previously limited to weapons, has now been expanded to include healing items and throwable objects.
A new Gameplay Assist menu will also be introduced, offering a variety of customizable gameplay features. These include quick turn, auto-complete for quick-time events, single-tap actions for various gameplay mechanics… Also, options such as player invulnerability, one-shot kills, infinite ammo, and more.
Remedy Entertainment aims to enhance the Alan Wake 2 experience with these community-driven changes. These are available to all players as part of the free update. To learn more about Alan Wake 2, read our full review here.
