On March 8th, Antstream Arcade hosted its first “Antstream Connect” event of 2024. In this article, we give you a complete list of what retro games were announced and what original platforms they are from.
Legend (PlayStation One):
The first game that was confirmed at the March 2024 Connect was the video game Legend by Piko Interactive. Legend is a 3D hack-and-slash adventure game where you must take control of a knight and attempt to defeat the evil son of your king before he destroys your kingdom.
Stone Protectors (SNES):
Keeping with publisher Piko Interactive comes the game Stone Protectors. In Stone Protectors, you get to play as our five heroes who must battle enemies to retrieve Zok’s crystals and return them all to the kingdom. Interestingly enough, you can acquire different weapons throughout the ten levels; however, only certain heroes can use certain weapons. Stone Protectors is a game I’ve played, and I can’t wait to see this game hit Antstream Arcade.
Radikal Bikers (PlayStation One):
The third game announced at Antstream Connect was Radikal Bikers.
Radikal Bikers is a pizza delivery game in the vein of Crazy Taxi. However, this game is the PlayStation conversion of the arcade game and was originally released only in European countries. Now, Piko Interactive is bringing this game to Antstream Arcade across the globe.
Truxton (Arcade):
The fourth game announced at the direct was the arcade game Truxton. In this side-scrolling shoot ’em up, you fly through waves of spaceships and must try to avoid getting destroyed as you navigate your way through one of the most influential side-scrolling shooters of all time.
Thunder Hoop (Arcade):
The next game on our list is Thunder Hoop, another arcade game from Piko Interactive. This game is a side-scrolling action platformer where you play as a lab experiment who must burst their way through the lab and escape. This is another great game that Piko is bringing to the Antstream platform.
Hellfire (Arcade):
The next game on our list is another side-scrolling shooter, and this one is the classic arcade game Hellfire. This game shares similarities with most other side-scrolling shooters; however, the core differences are the music, the graphics, and the sprites in the game.
Worms Armageddon (PlayStation):
The next game on our list comes from publisher Team 17. It is the popular title Worms Armageddon, an entry in the Worms video game series. In this game, you can play competitively with your friends as you try to blow up your enemies’ army of worms and become the king of the worms.
Snow Bros Nick And Tom (Arcade):
The final game that was announced was the classic Snow Bros Nick and Tom, a fun platforming arcade game. This is another classic arcade game, and I cannot wait to play it on Antstream Arcade later this year when it drops.
