Antstream Arcade, the retro gaming cloud gaming service with over 1300+ games, has long been a platform that has been restricted from appearing on the Apple App Store. This has locked Antstream Arcade out from being available on another potential one billion devices. Until now! We now have a confirmed release date for Antstream Arcade on iOS devices.

This is exciting news for retro gaming fans who are Apple users. We recently did an interview with Antstream Arcade, and their passion for retro gaming is palpable.

So What Changed?

Recently, due to laws in the European Union and pressure everywhere, Apple has allowed a slew of new apps on the App Store as a way to try and avoid fines for monopolistic practices. A lot of the apps in question were game emulators like Delta, which, though not illegal, are more morally ambiguous – depending on where you source the games to play on the emulators. Antstream Arcade, however, is a lot different. Antstream is a subscription service which offers over 1300 games that are officially licensed from companies like NAMCO, Atari, Piko Interactive, and Taito.

Cloud Gaming Apple

Antstream Arcade will also be the first officially distributed cloud gaming service on iOS through the Apple App Store. Antstream Arcade launches on iOS on June 27th 2024 which isn’t too far away! This follows Antstream Arcade launching on Xbox One and Series X/S consoles back in July 2023 and also recently launched their service in Brazil. Antstream Arcade is growing and that is something we at Cloud Dosage love to see, we love watching new gaming platforms grow and evolve like what we are seeing with Antstream Arcade.
