The acclaimed indie JRPG Chained Echoes is set to receive its official expansion, Ashes of Elrant, in the second quarter of 2025. The announcement was made by Deck13 Spotlight and Umami Tiger, the newly established studio founded by Matthias Linda, the creator of the original game.
This DLC takes players to a new land beyond Valandis and is set just before the final battle of Chained Echoes. The story follows the Clan of the Crimson Wings as they respond to a mysterious call for help from the enigmatic land of Elrant, where nothing is as it seems.
The expansion introduces a new playable character, the White Wolf, new areas to explore, over 40 new monsters and bosses, and 15 original tracks composed by Eddie Marianukroh, the mastermind behind the game’s soundtrack. Players will also encounter a new gameplay mechanic: fishing.
Ashes of Elrant will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Fans can already wishlist it on Steam. Of course, the game is and will be playable via different Cloud Gaming services.
