Berzerk (Arcade):
The first we are going to go over is the arcade classic Berzerk. In this classic arcade game, you must make your way through an ever-changing maze as you try to search for the exit and avoid waves of robots, each of which has different levels. Watch out for Evil Otto, however, he might look like an average happy face but he is invincible and will not stop chasing you till you are dead. Doodle World (NES):
The second game on our list is the ever-charming Doodle World. In this indie platforming game, you traverse five different worlds across fifteen levels, collect crayons, and defeat five bosses in this fan-made NES game. What makes this game more than just another 2D platformer for the NES is the fact the game launched in 2021 and was developed by a single developer, Mr. Nate Peters, who made this game inspired by his daughter’s drawings (which is just an adorable reason to check this game out). Doodle World is one of the best games on Antstream Arcade, and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t check it out.
Space Invaders (Arcade):
The next game on our list is the arcade classic from Taito, Space Invaders. In this game, you play as a turret who must defeat incoming waves of alien invaders or invaders from space! This is one of the most iconic video games ever made, and it’s one that everyone, whether they’re chasing high scores or just looking for some pick-up-and-play fun, should check out at least once in their lives. This is also one of the most well-known games that lives on Antstream Arcade.
Splatterhouse (Arcade):
The next game on our list is the Namco arcade classic Splatterhouse. In this game, you play as Rick who, having died in the Splatterhouse, is now revived by the Terror Mask as a killing machine. You make your way through a mansion filled to the brim with different monsters, which you must exterminate as you progress. What’s really strange about this game is the fact there’s not a modern-day 3D action game in this style. This is one of Namco’s best games and everyone who enjoys the horror or beat ’em up genres should definitely check this game out.
Lee (C64):
If you’re looking at the title of this game and thinking of a guy called Bruce, shush you wanna get sued? In this game you play as a character called Lee who must enter a fortress and battle his way through enemies and avoid traps to find The Wizard as well as unlimited wealth and the dream of every gamer: immortality. This game is probably the best C64 game on Antstream Arcade and sits among hundreds of other C64 games on the platform.

This is just my top five games on Antstream Arcade, however, with the current total of 1,314 games on Antstream Arcade spanning across over a dozen platforms and dozens of genres, I urge many retro gamers to give Antstream a chance, especially if you want to find your new favourite game.
