Xbox Cloud Gaming offers gamers a large library of games to play for a cheap monthly price. However, in this article, we will look at the top games developed and published by Xbox Game Studios (previously known as Microsoft Studios and Microsoft Game Studios). We have a separate list for games developed by Xbox Game Studio’s sister publisher Bethesda Softworks so you won’t see game series like Doom, Fallout or The Elder Scrolls on this list. So let’s dive in.
Gears 5:
The first game we are going to be going over comes from The Coalition, the main developers of Gears of War. In this installment of the franchise, you play as Kait Diaz, who after the events of Gears of War 4, has recurring nightmares about the Locust Horde swarming the people of Sera. This game also tackles the connection between Kait and Myrrah, the deceased Queen of the Locusts. This is the latest installment in the third-person shooter aspect of this game (there was a strategy game more recently). If you’re a fan of using a chainsaw gun to carve your enemies into little bits, then you should check out this game.
Minecraft Dungeons:
The next game comes from one of the most influential game series Minecraft, however, this isn’t the classic survival game, this is a Diablo-style dungeon crawler. Minecraft Dungeons is a dungeon-crawling game where you can team up with your friends (or family if you’re friendless) as you defeat waves of mobs and destroy the Arch-Illager and save the villagers. This is one of many spinoffs to the beloved Minecraft franchise and this is the one I’d consider the best Minecraft game on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Ori and The Will Of The Wisps:
The next game on our list is a beloved gem of the Xbox Game Studios portfolio, Ori and The Will Of The Wisps. In this 2D-Metroidvania you play as Ori who is on a mission to reunite with their adopted sibling Ku who Ori loses contact with whilst Ku is learning how to fly. With the help of kind and friendly creatures, Ori must defeat the darkness and reunite with their family once again. At the start of the game, a storm separates Ori from Ku and the rest of their family leaving Ori lost in the distant land of Niwen. If you are a fan of Metroidvania games then playing Ori and The Will Of The Wisps needs to be on your gaming bucket list.
Grounded:
Whilst it’s no Minecraft the best survival game to be made available on Xbox Cloud Gaming has to be Obsidian Entertainment’s Grounded. In this game you get shrunk down ala Honey I Shrunk The Kids and have to survive the backyard as you unravel the secrets of the backyard. You must gather supplies such as food and water and build a shelter as you try to avoid insects that are surprisingly hostile and spiders (which you can thankfully turn off in an arachnophobia setting). Grounded is one of the most interesting games to come out of Xbox Game Studios in years and I am happy that this game is available on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Halo The Master Chief Collection:
The next game on our list is the definitive collection of the ultimate Xbox franchise, Halo. In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, you play as the Spartan warrior John-117, otherwise known as the Master Chief; at least that’s who you play as in Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4. The other games in this collection include Halo: Reach, which is a prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, and Halo 3: ODST, which is a spinoff of Halo 3 where you play as a soldier in the ODST class. If you like science fiction and are a fan of first-person shooters, then checking out Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a no-brainer.
Forza Motorsport:
Now the next game on our list comes from Xbox’s premier racing game sim franchise Forza Motorsport. This game is the thirteenth game in the Forza franchise and the eighth game in the Forza Motorsport series. This game allows you to customize over five hundred different vehicles with over eight hundred different upgrades. You also have twenty newly built tracks which are exclusive to this game.
