Blue Archive Launches on Steam with New Update and Event Storyline

Blue Archive

Nexon’s popular mobile RPG Blue Archive is now officially available on Steam. This marks the game’s expansion beyond Android and iOS platforms. Initially launched in 2021, the game has developed a strong global following. Now, it invites PC players to explore the academy city of Kivotos.

The Steam version retains all core content from the mobile release. It includes the game’s mix of story-driven progression and real-time tactical combat. Following the PC launch, Blue Archive quickly received an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating from early Steam players. It currently holds a ‘Very Positive’ average based on more than 8,000 reviews.

Players step into the role of an advisor, or “Sensei,” to the Federal Investigation Club SCHALE. They manage missions, build relationships with students, and navigate frequent citywide incidents. The transition to PC aims to make the experience more accessible. This is while maintaining parity with ongoing mobile updates.

Alongside the Steam release, Nexon has introduced a new in-game event titled Code: BOX – The Shadow Approaching Millennium. The story centers on students infiltrating the Millennium EXPO as a larger conspiracy begins to unfold. This event includes the debut of several new characters.

Nexon presented the Steam launch and the new update during Anime Expo 2025 at the Blue Archive: Dev Talk Live at AX panel. Executive Producer Yong-Ha Kim and other team members discussed upcoming plans for the game. They also thanked players for their support.

“Launching on Steam is more than just bringing the game to a new platform,” Kim said during the event. “It allows us to connect and bring the world of Kivotos to more players than ever before.”

Blue Archive is now available as a free-to-play download on Steam. The event Code: BOX – The Shadow Approaching Millennium is live in-game, with more updates scheduled in the coming months.
