Guardians, prepare for a year unlike any other! Today, Bungie pulled back the curtain on the Year of Prophecy, a massive influx of content set to redefine the Destiny 2 universe. This ambitious year promises two full expansions, significant core game updates, and compelling seasonal content, all kicking off with the launch of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate on July 15th. This expansion will mark the beginning of a brand new saga: The Fate Saga, posing the intriguing question to players: “Are we bound by fate?”
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate – Unravelling Ancient Mysteries
Launching on July 15th, Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate will thrust players into a captivating mystery centered around the enigmatic Nine. These powerful beings, who predate even the Traveler, will take center stage as Guardians face a new threat that lurks in the shadows of Sol’s history. Two major characters will step into the spotlight: Lodi, a new ally hailing from a distant realm, and the legendary Warlock Vanguard, Ikora. Bungie promises that The Edge of Fate will be the launching point for a multi-year narrative journey.
Exploration will be key in the new destination: Kepler. Inspired by the intricate puzzle-solving and navigation of Destiny 2’s dungeons, Kepler is designed to encourage deep exploration, unraveling mysteries, and player-driven discovery. Guardians can expect to encounter new enemies, acquire powerful weapons and gear, and master unique destination-specific abilities fueled by the abundant dark matter energy found on Kepler.
New Dark Matter Abilities:
- Matterspark: Bind to dark matter to transform, allowing passage through tight spaces, enhanced mobility with jumps and dashes, and the ability to become a destructive rolling force.
- Relocator Cannon: Utilize Fallen dark matter technology to teleport across the environment.
- Mattermorph: Manipulate surroundings by combining the forces of dark matter and Strand.

- Fireteam Ops: Focusing on quick fireteam action.
- Pinnacle Ops: Emphasizing longer-form cooperative content.
- Crucible Ops: Dedicated to PvP activities.
