The annual Call of Duty NEXT broadcast has revealed significant details about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, alongside updates for Warzone. The event provided a glimpse into new gameplay features, maps, and modes.

Multiplayer Enhancements

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce 16 new multiplayer maps, including 12 Core 6v6 maps and four smaller Strike maps. These maps are designed to showcase new gameplay mechanics, such as “Omnimovement”, which allows for more dynamic and fluid movement during combat. Players participating in the Closed Beta, which begins on August 30, will have the opportunity to explore some of these maps, including Babylon, Derelict, and Scud.

In addition to the new maps, Black Ops 6 will feature a mix of classic game modes like Team Deathmatch and Hardpoint, alongside a brand-new mode called Kill Order. This mode focuses on protecting a High Value Target (HVT) while attempting to eliminate the enemy’s HVT, offering a fresh, strategic gameplay experience.

Global Gameplay Systems

One of the most anticipated features of Black Ops 6 is Omnimovement, which allows players to chain together various combat actions with a full 360-degree range of motion. This system is expected to bring a new level of tactical flexibility to the game, enabling players to perform complex actions such as shooting while diving or rotating in midair.

Other notable additions include Intelligent Movement options and updates to the Gunsmith system, which will allow for greater customization of weapons and gameplay. Players will also see the return of features like Classic Prestige and Mastery Camos, providing a sense of progression and achievement.

Warzone Integrations

Warzone will see the introduction of the Area 99 Resurgence Map in Season 1, set in the Nevada desert near the iconic Nuketown testing site. The map, inspired by the original Nuketown, offers a variety of new locations to explore, each with unique challenges and a touch of retrofuturism.

Warzone will also support Carry Forward Content, allowing players to bring over their weapons, Operators, and cosmetics from Modern Warfare II and III. Additionally, changes to the inventory system will simplify item management by removing backpacks and introducing inventory slots for specific items like Gas Masks and Armor Plates.

Zombies Mode

Black Ops 6 will feature the return of Round-Based Zombies, with Liberty Falls as one of the launch maps. Set in a small West Virginia town overrun by zombies, the map offers a mix of narrow streets and familiar landmarks. Players can also expect multi-stage Main Quests and various Perks to assist in their fight against the undead.
