Four adventurers stand in a lush, fantastical landscape with glowing plants and a dramatic sky above, as if part of a Galaxies Showcase.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Has Sold Over 1 Million Copies

Sandfall Interactive has announced that their debut RPG title, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has now sold 1 million copies.

This landmark comes even though the game is available on Xbox Game Pass. It also managed to hit this milestone a mere 3 days after the game launched.

Of course, this may not come as a huge shock, as just 24 hours after the game launched, it had already sold over 500,000 copies.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a debut title for Sandfall Interactive, a small studio of around 30 people based in France.

Players must lead Expedition 33 as they embark on a journey to stop the paintress who, each year, will paint a decreasing number on a large monolith, making all people of that age mysteriously disappear.

The game has been a huge hit, and as it stands, it is the best-reviewed game for 2025 on Metacritic.

Having personally spent some time with the game, I highly recommend it. It truly is something special.
