Nintendo has announced a Donkey Kong Bananza Direct set for Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The event kicks off at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT, and will run for about 15 minutes.
The announcement came through the Nintendo Today! app, confirming the focus will be entirely on the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza, a 3D platformer launching next month for Nintendo Switch 2. Don’t expect any surprise appearances from other games. This one’s all about the big guy and his July 17 adventure.
This will be the second dedicated Direct for a Nintendo Switch 2 game. The first was the recent Mario Kart World Direct. If past Directs are any indication, expect new footage, gameplay reveals, and maybe a surprise or two.
So far, we’ve seen Donkey Kong sporting his new look, smashing through destructible worlds, and chasing after oversized golden bananas. The initial trailer teased a mix of 3D exploration and some throwback side-scrolling stages, with plenty of platforming chaos in between.
The Direct will stream live on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, and we’ll be watching it as it happens. Whether you’re a longtime DK fan or just curious what kind of trouble he’s getting into this time, it sounds like a wild Wednesday morning.
