The game was first shown during last month’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, but this event provided the first full breakdown of new features. Alongside the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, all new content will also release on other platforms as the Tarnished Pack.
Here’s what’s included in the Tarnished Edition and what Nintendo Switch 2 users can expect later this year.
New Classes and Features in Elden Ring Tarnished Edition
At the FromSoftware Games Event, two new starting classes were confirmed for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2: Knight of Iddis and Heavy Knight. While stat details weren’t shared, both are tied to newly added armor sets.
The update also introduces three new appearances for Torrent, your spirit steed. This is the first time you’ll be able to customize Torrent’s look during gameplay.
In addition to visual changes, the Tarnished Edition includes four armor sets, new weapons, and new Ashes of War. All new content will also be released as part of the Tarnished Pack on other platforms.
FromSoftware confirmed that these features will be included in the Nintendo Switch 2 version when it launches in 2025.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Set to Launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 includes the full base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and all newly announced content from the FromSoftware Games Event. This marks the series’ first appearance on a Nintendo platform.
No technical details have been shared yet, so it’s unclear how performance will compare to other versions. The game is still expected to launch in 2025.
The Tarnished Pack, which includes the new classes, armor sets, weapons, and steed customizations, will also be available as downloadable content on other platforms. The new content won’t be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
Preorder information hasn’t been announced. More updates are likely as the release window approaches.
