The latest update for Fallout 76, “Milepost Zero,” has introduced a vault-load of significant changes that are sure to shake up the Appalachian wasteland. From revamped crafting systems to new social features, there’s something for everyone in this update.

Legendary Crafting Gets a Makeover

One of the most notable additions is the revamped Legendary Crafting system. Players now have more control over the Legendary Mods that appear on their gear, allowing for greater customization. To obtain these mods, players can either trade with other players or scrap Legendary items. Scraping Legendary items earn Legendary Scrip and a chance at acquiring Legendary Mods. You might even permanently learn to craft one of those mods. While you can trade loose Legendary Mods, crafting a mod onto an item makes it untradeable, unsaleable, and undropable.

As previously announced, Legendary Cores have been discontinued to streamline the Legendary Crafting system. Upon logging in after the update, any unused Legendary Cores will be automatically converted into Legendary Scrip at a 1:1 ratio.

Community-Driven Content

The “Best Builds” feature encourages players to share their C.A.M.P. creations with the community. By submitting, visiting, and rating C.A.M.P.s, players can discover unique and inspiring builds.

Caravan Your Way

Later this month, players will be able to start their own Caravans, protecting them from raiders and creatures as they make deliveries around Skyline Valley. This new feature promises to add a new layer of strategy and excitement to the game.

Update Size and Download

The update introduces a significant reduction in the overall file size of Fallout 76. To achieve this, all players will need to redownload the game. While the initial download may be larger than usual, the long-term benefit of a smaller game size is well worth it. Of course, we at Cloud Dosage know the power of the cloud eliminates the need for downloads. It’s good to see the file size reduction, but it isn’t needed if you use the cloud. Fallout 76 is currently playable on GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming

Other Notable Changes

  • Vendor History Log: Keep track of your vendor’s sales and customers.
  • Combat Rebalance: Fire and Poison damage, as well as creature balance, have been adjusted.
  • Perk Changes: Several perks have been adjusted to improve gameplay.
  • Bug Fixes and Improvements: Numerous bugs have been squashed, and various gameplay improvements have been implemented.

The Milepost Zero update brings a wealth of new content and improvements to Fallout 76. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a new player, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy in this latest update.
