HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact‘s Version 5.6, titled Paralogism, will be released on May 7. The update adds a new Archon Quest Interlude. It also introduces an amusement park management event in Fontaine and debuts two playable characters: Escoffier and Ifa.
The new chapter in the Archon Quest sends players back to Mondstadt during the Windblume Festival. However, what begins as a celebration soon escalates into turmoil, as Albedo becomes the focus of a mysterious trial. Alongside Venti, the Knights of Favonius, and new characters like Dahlia and Lady Alice of the Hexenzirkel, players must unravel the case. They must also defend the city from a growing threat.
As part of the storyline, a new Weekly Boss Challenge will task players with facing powerful foes on a magical chessboard. Here, strategy and timing are key to overcoming the King and Queen.
Elsewhere, players can take part in a limited-time management event set in Fontaine. The Chevalmarin Film Fantasyland lets players run an amusement park with help from Navia and other familiar faces from Fontaine and Natlan. The event includes three attractions — Eclectic Escapades, Movie Masterpieces, and Mellow Manor. It challenges players to improve the park’s Service Value, train employees, and earn the exclusive 4-star bow, Sequence of Solitude.
Two New Playable Characters
Version 5.6 also introduces two new playable characters. Escoffier, a 5-star Cryo polearm user and former head chef of Hotel Debord, uses a combat style that blends cooking and Cryo abilities. Her toolkit allows her to deploy a Mek. This Mek deals damage or supports allies with healing and resistance debuffs.
Ifa, a 4-star Anemo catalyst user from Natlan, joins the roster with his dinosaur companion, Cacucu. His abilities focus on healing, battlefield control, and increasing elemental reactions through a unique Nightsoul mechanic.
Escoffier, Navia, and Ifa will be featured in the first phase of the Event Wishes, with Kinich and Raiden Shogun following in the second. The Chronicled Wish will also return. It will highlight a selection of 5-star characters from Inazuma.
Genshin Impact Version 5.6 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS with support for cross-progression and co-op play.
