Genshin Impact Version 5.8 Brings Summer Fun to Natlan on July 30

Four Genshin Impact characters celebrate at a festival under the night sky, surrounded by fireworks and colorful decorations, embracing the excitement of Genshin Impact Version 5.8.

Genshin Impact’s next big update lands on July 30 with Version 5.8, titled “Sunspray Summer Resort.” This update adds a permanent new island map called Easybreeze Holiday Resort, set just off the west coast of Natlan. It’s the first time the region gets a beach-themed destination you can keep exploring long after the season ends.

Along with the new map, Version 5.8 introduces Ineffa, a 5-star Electro polearm user and the very first character from the upcoming region Nod-Krai. Yelan and Bennett are also getting new outfits, and a full lineup of seasonal mini-games is on the way. You’ll also get a look at the first story chapter setting up the Nod-Krai saga.

Explore the Easybreeze Holiday Resort

Genshin Impact Version 5.8 opens the gates to Easybreeze Holiday Resort, a new island area located west of Natlan. Unlike past summer maps, this one is here to stay. It includes four distinct zones, each filled with puzzles, surprises, and new movement mechanics.

You’ll team up with the resort mascot, Asha, who gives you special powers to glide across water and float midair. Asha can also spray colorful paint that reveals hidden paths and unlocks secrets. The map ties into a new story quest called “Sunspray Summer Resort,” which brings back characters like Bennett, Mualani, and even Venti.

Several limited-time mini-games are scattered across the island. You’ll guide Kau Kau and Akamai in “Travels Are Fuller With Friends,” take part in target challenges in “Strikers Through the Storm,” and join music parties or paint-based games as Asha. These events reward Sunspray Spirit, which you can trade for items including Bennett’s new outfit and a 4-star Claymore called “Flame-Forged Insight.”

Meet Ineffa, the First Character from Nod-Krai

Genshin Impact Version 5.8 introduces Ineffa, a new 5-star Electro polearm user and the first character from Nod-Krai. She’s featured in the new Archon Quest, “Song of the Welkin Moon: Prelude – The Journey Home,” which explores her origins and hints at the wider Nod-Krai storyline.

Ineffa is an all-purpose household robot created by Aino, a mechanic from Nod-Krai. She’s more than just a helper though. In battle, Ineffa uses a new reaction type called Lunar-Charged. When triggered, it creates a Thundercloud that deals continuous Electro damage to enemies affected by both Electro and Hydro. Her kit also includes a shield and a smart unit named Birgitta, which dashes toward enemies for extra area damage.

She’ll appear in the first phase of Genshin Impact Version 5.8’s event banners alongside Citlali. The second phase brings back Mualani and Chasca. It’s a good chance to try out new team setups with Lunar-Charged effects in play.

New Outfits and Handy System Updates

Genshin Impact Version 5.8 brings fresh looks for two familiar faces. Bennett gets a new outfit called “Adventures in Blazing Hue,” which you can unlock for free by completing seasonal events. Yelan also receives a new Fontaine-inspired outfit, “Tranquil Banquet,” available at a limited-time discount.

There are also a few quality-of-life improvements. New tutorial videos are now available for recently added characters, making it easier to learn their abilities through the Trial and Talent screens. The quest system has been simplified as well. Pressing “Navigate” now automatically sets the in-game clock to the correct time. Material tracking has been improved, showing you which characters can detect local specialties in each region.
