GFN Steam Update: 4 Games Opt-in First Week of January

Not surprisingly, it was a slower than usual week for new games opting into GeForce NOW (GFN) on Steam. GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service that lets users play PC games they own from Steam, Epic, Xbox and other stores. For a game to be available on GFN, the publisher first has to “opt in” for the service. Which gives us a chance to find games that may be coming in the future.

It is important to note, however, that not every game that opts in is guaranteed to arrive on the service. NVIDIA needs to approve each game and to put in a bit of work to test each title on its servers. From experience, most big games that opt-in do end up coming (for example, we caught THE FINALS opting in mid-December and it was released on the service during the first week of January).

Games Opting Into GFN on Steam Last Week

Probably the most interesting game in the list is Fireworks Mania, which has nearly 5,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. It’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a fireworks simulation game. You can check out the trailer using the link above.

Gordian Rooms 2 is the sequel to Gordian Rooms 1: A Curious Heritage – which is a puzzle game (think “Gordian Knot”) that has a very positive score on Steam after 404 reviews. The game will be arriving later this month.

Whispering Lane appears to be a mystery/horror title from Airem, the makers of Apartment 1406. The game should be releasing next month.
