Each week, we update our list of games that have opted into NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service, GeForce NOW (GFN), on Steam. This was a bit of a quiet week, there are 9 new titles on the list of games that have opted in. But, a few of those titles are quite notable.
When a game’s publisher opts a title into GeForce NOW, they are officially signaling their interest in joining GeForce NOW (via a checkbox on Steam). It’s essentially a request to NVIDIA, seeking a spot on their service. While popular games that opt-in tend to reach the platform in a matter of weeks or months, lesser-known titles tend to take longer or not get added at all. Hence, even if a game opts in, it isn’t a guaranteed sign the title will end up on GeForce NOW.
It’s also important to note that these are NOT the only games that will arrive on GeForce NOW! Some of the biggest Steam titles to land on GFN did so without opting in beforehand. Some game opt-in only right as they arrive. In addition, games coming to GeForce NOW from other PC stores (Epic, Xbox, BattleNet etc.) are not included in this list for obvious reasons.
List of Games that Opted into GeForce NOW Last Week
Here is the full list of the dozen titles which opted into GFN on Steam over the past week. Games without release dates mentioned are already available on the Steam PC store (but not yet on GeForce NOW).
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
- The Spirit of the Samurai
- Pax Dei
- The Precinct
- Chess Infinity
- World of Football
- Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer
- Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II
There are a couple notable games this week including upcoming titles Assassin’s Creed Shadows – which already has a Steam ID and existing titles Return to Moria and Pax Dei. Ubisoft will be bringing more titles to Steam earlier in their life after learning its lesson with Star Wars Outlaws. Exclusivity deals with the Epic Game Store and its own game store have not worked out the way Ubisoft hoped. Instead of moving stores in order to play the games on release, Steam users have just tended to pass on the games entirely.
