GoldenEye 007 is Now Available on Game Pass Ultimate

Dun dun duuuun, dun dun duuuun, du du du du duun! GoldenEye 007 is back in all its original glory. Grab your friends and get ready for a 4 player split screen death match in The Dam.

The original 1997 release of GoldenEye 007 is still fondly remembered by millions all around the world, with its innovative shooter gameplay instantly cementing the title as a classic. And since 1997, due to licensing issues, it has remained stuck on the N64. Finally though, Rare have been able to bring the game to Xbox and Nintendo Switch. And on Xbox it is available via Game Pass Ultimate and playable in the cloud. This is one of 7 games coming to Game Pass this month. It will also reportedly be added to the Rare Replay collection. Though currently it will not be playable via cloud this way.

The Xbox version of GoldenEye 007 will have some modern improvements that take advantage of Xbox’s beefier hardware, including 4K resolution and achievement support. 4 player split screen is still available, but due to how Rare have ported the game, online multiplayer is not available on the Xbox.

Fortunately, Rare haven’t just upgraded the graphics. The Cloud version of the game has custom touch controls, so you can play on the go with no need for a controller. This does seem to becoming a trend from Xbox, and one that I am fully on board with.
