GTA The Trilogy Reaches 30 Million Downloads On Netflix Games

GTA Trilogy on Netflix

It’s safe to say that Netflix Games’ decision to add the Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy The Definitive Edition to Netflix during December 2023 has proven to be a wise one. The combined trilogy of GTA games has now reached over 30 million downloads.

How Are The Numbers Looking?

In the month of December 2023 we saw 28 million downloads of games from Netflix, 18 million of those games were a combination of the three GTA titles which hit the platform on December 14th. Now, over six months later, the updated numbers sourced from mobilegamer.biz report that number at over 30 million downloads. 20.5 million were for GTA San Andreas, while GTA Vice City received 6.5 million and GTA 3 has 3.3 million. The number for GTA San Andreas stands out the most as it is the largest number of downloads for a game on Netflix that I have ever seen.

What Does This Mean?:

With the success of the GTA Trilogy on Netflix Games, don’t be surprised if we see Netflix try to source even more big-name games in the future. Netflix already has pre-existing deals with Sega, Capcom, Konami, and Bandai Namco due to adapting several of their gaming IPs into television and film content. What games we will see Netflix try to source in the future remains a mystery, but with these games being as widely popular as they are, it certainly helps expand the reach of Netflix Games. I’m curious to see what the next big game/games that Netflix licenses are going to be.
