Hollow Knight: Silksong Launch Date Confirmed for September 2025

Team Cherry has confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will finally launch on September 4, 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch (1 and 2), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be on Steam, GOG, the Humble Store, and the Microsoft Store. Importantly for cloud players, it will also release day one on Xbox Game Pass.

While Xbox’s store listing doesn’t currently mention Xbox Cloud Gaming, most Game Pass titles are made available through the service. So, Silksong is expected to follow the same path. Earlier this year, Team Cherry also submitted Silksong for GeForce Now compatibility testing. This suggests that NVIDIA’s cloud platform may support the title as well once it goes live.

In Silksong, players step into the role of Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, who is captured and taken to a new kingdom of silk and song. She must battle enemies, explore varied landscapes, and uncover ancient mysteries on a perilous journey to the kingdom’s peak.

The sequel expands on Hollow Knight with fast-paced acrobatic combat, crafting systems, quests, and over 150 new enemies to face. After finishing the main story, players can tackle the challenging Silk Soul mode for a different take on the adventure. Additionally, Christopher Larkin returns as composer, bringing a new orchestral score.
