The Logitech G Cloud team has announced that a new software update. Version 8, is set to roll out starting July 12, 2024. This update will initially be available to a select group of users as part of a phased approach to ensure stability before a wider release.
A key feature of this update is the ability to dim the device’s screen brightness when using an external display. This feature has been highly requested by the G Cloud community and is now being implemented. Additionally, the update addresses an issue where vibration caused stuttering and freezing on the device. Still, the G Cloud team has shared that optimized haptics remain more effective for certain applications and games.
Version 8 also introduces a notification system for the usage of TV-out. When the device is connected to an external screen, users will receive a notification and see an icon indicating the connection status. When disconnected, a notification will similarly alert the user.
