Thanks to an update that began rolling out on June 25, the Logitech G Cloud handheld has received a notable UI overhaul. This update puts Xbox Cloud Gaming front and center. While the rollout has been staggered, some users like myself only received it today. The changes are immediately apparent and impactful for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
As seen in the updated “Trending Apps” and “New Arrivals” sections, Xbox Cloud Gaming now leads the experience. It features a native-looking tile embedded directly in the top row of the main dashboard. Recent additions like Mecha BREAK, Little Nightmares II, and Against the Storm are easily accessible and launch seamlessly. This reduces the friction previously present in navigating to Xbox cloud titles.
A Major Push for Xbox Cloud Gaming
This UI redesign is clearly tailored for Game Pass Ultimate members. They will get the most value out of the new layout. Xbox Cloud Gaming content now feels like a built-in part of the G Cloud system, rather than a third-party option. It also makes browsing and discovering Game Pass titles more streamlined. This gives the handheld more of a console-like identity.
A new feature also found under Settings is the ability to choose your cloud gaming region. While this doesn’t change availability, it tailors the experience by providing localized game listings, language preferences, and descriptions. These adjust depending on your selected country. This makes browsing more intuitive and ensures that game titles and partner services appear in the most relevant form for your market.
Other Cloud Gaming Services Need Some Love
In addition to Xbox, Blacknut also gets a featured Partner App tile. It appears alongside other major platforms like GeForce NOW, Boosteroid, and Antstream Arcade. However, outside of Xbox Cloud Gaming, none of these services currently benefit from deeper integration or system-level enhancements. They’re still accessed via their respective apps without special treatment in the UI.
Despite this, overall navigation has improved. Menus are faster and cleaner. The focus on cloud-first gaming is clearer than ever. For users heavily invested in the Xbox ecosystem, the G Cloud is starting to feel like a dedicated Xbox Cloud handheld.
For everyone else, especially those who prefer platforms like GeForce NOW, the update doesn’t offer much beyond aesthetics. Hopefully, future updates will bring similar native-feeling experiences to other services now that the groundwork has been laid.
