Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter Wilds, released on February 28, 2025, achieved worldwide sales of 8 million units in just three days after release, the fastest start in Capcom history.
“Monster Hunter Wilds” is a completely new series set in a dual world that dynamically changes from a harsh environment where monsters fight each other to an environment brimming with life. In addition to enjoying the magnificent and beautiful visual expression realized by the company’s own engine “RE ENGINE,” it also implements cross-play that allows you to play together across platform boundaries.
This title was available to many users through booths at game events held around the world, open beta tests, and other means, and the appeal of the game was communicated to a wide range of people both in Japan and overseas through digital events such as the “Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase,” which provides the latest game information. By continuously implementing these global measures, the game generated a lot of buzz even before its release, and has now achieved sales of 8 million copies in just three days since its release, the fastest in Capcom’s history.
Capcom remains committed to providing the best possible game development capabilities in order to create highly original game titles that meet the expectations of all users.
It perhaps should not come as a huge surprise that Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved such impressive sales figures so soon after launch. Reviews for the game were very positive and it is currently sitting at a Metacritic rating of 90 on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
