Moon Studios Becomes Fully Independent and Announces a Major Update for No Rest for the Wicked

Moon Studios has hosted the second edition of the Wicked Inside event, where they shared major updates about their future as a development studio and the upcoming updates for their ARPG No Rest for the Wicked, currently in early access.

The studio announced that they have acquired the publishing rights for No Rest for the Wicked, allowing them to develop the game without external restrictions. Additionally, Moon Studios confirmed that composer Gareth Coker, known for the Ori series soundtrack, has returned to create new music for No Rest for the Wicked.

New Update: The Breach

The game’s next major expansion, The Breach, will launch on April 30 and is set to be the most ambitious update yet. Key features include:

  • New Story and Areas: Players will explore new regions such as Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods, facing new enemies like the Harvesters and the Balak Taw.
  • Expanded Combat and Character Building: The update introduces new weapon types, including Gauntlets and Staves, along with new enemies and an improved loot system to enhance gameplay variety.
  • Replayability Enhancements: The Alive system allows the game world to change dynamically based on faction and enemy influence. Additionally, the Plague System introduces new plague-infected enemies and bosses, rewarding players with special resources for purifying afflicted areas.
  • Optimizations and New Features: Lighting improvements, enhanced DLSS implementation, and quality-of-life additions such as new enchantment systems, direct teleportation to the player’s home, and an improved inventory system.
  • Hardcore Mode: A challenge for players seeking an even greater test of skill.

After The Breach, Moon Studios will focus on a new update introducing four-player co-op in a persistent world. Additionally, improvements to Sacrament, the game’s central city, will enhance housing, farming, and progression systems. The studio is also working on combat refinements to further polish key mechanics.

To celebrate this new phase, Moon Studios has launched a 30% discount on Steam. The next Wicked Inside event will reveal more details about the game’s development beyond The Breach.
