Netflix Games has been making waves with some high-profile additions and has built a strong library of mobile games, as well as a handful of games on Netflix’s Cloud Gaming Beta, which is offered in eight countries. Now, one of Netflix’s co-CEOs has discussed plans for Netflix’s future cloud gaming plans during Netflix’s Q4 2024 earnings call.
What Are The Plans For Netflix Cloud Gaming?:
Netflix’s co-CEO Greg Peters recently discussed some of the plans for Netflix Cloud Gaming on a recent earnings call where he mentioned Netflix has plans for more “couch co-op and party games” which is definitely an interesting idea. Mr Peters compared these games to “family game night or what game shows on TV used to be”. Mr Peters also mentioned that there are more plans in Netflix’s future for more “narrative games based on Netflix IP”. Now we don’t know what these party games will be or if they will based on popular Netflix shows like Squid Game or Stranger Things but it is nice to get some more confirmation on plans for Netflix Cloud Gaming.
Netflix Games had a very interesting year in 2024 and is already off to an interesting start to 2025 with this news from Greg Peters and the news that their former External Games VP Leanne Loombe has left to head up the shell of Annapurna Interactive. Hopefully, we will get to see something from these games in the future.
