Netflix just hosted its yearly Geeked Week fan event, which saw announcements of brand-new television series, movies, and most importantly to us here at Cloud Dosage, games! Alongside confirmation of previously announced games, we got the announcement of Street Fighter IV Championship Edition and Civilization VI to its already large gaming library.
What Civilization and Street Fighter Mean for Netflix Games
The addition of these games to Netflix’s gaming service is mind-blowing, 2K Games’ Civilization VI is the Platinum Edition, meaning it includes all the expansion packs for the game. Capcom’s Street Fighter IV is the complete version, with all 32 fighters that were released over the lifetime of the game. Amazingly, due to Netflix’s version of Street Fighter IV, iOS, and Android users can battle each other online exclusively via Netflix.
Netflix also confirmed the official title for the upcoming Rebel Moon game, Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game. Whilst none of these games have confirmed release dates, these are exciting developments, especially due to Netflix’s pre-established relationship with Capcom via television and film and 2K Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, via Rockstar Games.
