Netflix Games has announced that they will no longer be making games within their Netflix Stories series, which included a number of games based on Netflix IPs and presented as romantic story-driven games. This also means the much-anticipated game based on Netflix’s Ginny and Georgia has been scrapped.

So What Has Happened?:
Netflix Games has cancelled future updates to its game series Netflix Stories, which included scrapping a game based on the Netflix TV series Ginny and Georgia. This is because Netflix Games is switching strategy to focus more on party games, narrative games, kids games and mainstream games as well as games that will also be playable on TVs via Netflix Cloud Gaming. It has also been confirmed that unlike Stranger Things Puzzle Tales, all the games that were released through Netflix Stories will remain playable via Netflix’s mobile app. Netflix Games President Alain Tascan said, “We have to match the overall vision of Netflix; otherwise, we are just a distraction.” I’m kind of mixed on this news as the Netflix Stories games were shorter than the full-fledged games released for Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle franchise which made the games in Netflix Stories feel more rushed and less complete.
For us at Cloud Dosage, we have been chronicling the games released on Netflix’s Cloud Gaming platform for years, and we’re all excited to see more games get released on Netflix’s Cloud Gaming service that will be playable on TVs and PCs as well as mobile devices.
