Netflix Games, the gaming platform which is built into every Netflix subscription, released a total of five games to its platform during July 2024. Now that we’re in August 2024, it’s time we look back at the games that were added to Netflix Games and whether or not these games are worth checking out in your gaming time.
The Dragon Prince Xadia
The first game we are going to go over is the latest Netflix game at the time of writing, The Dragon Prince Xadia. Step into the world of the iconic Netflix animated fantasy series and prepare for the magical adventure of a lifetime. If you are a fan of RPGs, more specifically ARPGs (action RPGs), or you’re a fan of the animated series that this game is based on, or even if you’re just looking to explore a new game via Netflix, then The Dragon Prince Xadia should be top of your list.
Sports Sports
The next game on our list is one that fans of the ongoing Paris Olympics will be dying to try, Sports Sports. In this game, you must run, swim, lift, throw, and leap your way to climb to the top of the worldwide leaderboards. This game features the ability to play alone and test your skills or battle against friends in an online multiplayer arena. Will you climb to the top of the table, or will you finish as the bottom rung of the ladder?
Minesweeper
The next game on our list was the first game we saw added to Netflix Games in July 2024. This game is another take on the classic computer video game Minesweeper, which has been ported to many different platforms over the years. If you’ve always wanted to play a version of Minesweeper on your phone, then you can check out Minesweeper on Netflix Games now.
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure
The next game on our list is a beloved indie game where you play as a young girl who must travel the world, one square at a time, in a beautifully crafted world. You have heard of role-playing games, but have you ever heard of a role-puzzling game? Well, now you have! The whole game is designed to be played on a grid, and you must guide your hero through the levels as you journey during your adventure.
Too Hot To Handle 3:
The final game on our list is the latest addition to one of Netflix’s fastest-growing game genres, dating simulation games. Too Hot To Handle 3 is the latest game in the Too Hot To Handle series to be made available on Netflix Games and includes upgraded graphics and customization over the previous two games in the series. This game was particularly frustrating for me, as Netflix seemingly couldn’t make up its mind when it was released, as this game received three different release dates within days of its announcement.
Overall, I think this collection of games is a huge win for Netflix Games as there are several different genres shown here, and it also includes a number of games from Netflix IPs and original IPs. Hopefully, Netflix will continue to add more and more variety to its massive game catalog alongside more cloud releases.
