The report in question has come from the website Game Developer (link is here), which spoke to current and past staff at Night School Studio who confirmed to the site that there were layoffs at the studio back in January, which shocked the staff at the studio. We have been seeing reports of gaming studio layoffs quite frequently since 2023 due to the overexpansion of many gaming publishers during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s also important to note that in Netflix’s case, their gaming division is now run by former Epic Games executive Alain Tascan, who is working on reforming the gaming division.
