Once Upon a Katamari Gameplay Adds Time Travel and KatamariBall Mode
Once Upon a Katamari keeps the classic formula intact. You roll objects, grow your Katamari, and help fix the cosmos. This time, you’ll travel through different eras, including the Jurassic Period, the Ice Age, and feudal Japan. Each stage offers its own setting and theme to roll through.
You can play as the Prince or one of 68 returning cousins and kin. All characters can be customized with new colors, facial features, and more. A helpful new tool, the magnet, pulls in shiny objects nearby, making cleanup even more satisfying.

The game also adds KatamariBall, a new competitive mode for up to four players. You’ll roll your Katamari as large as you can, then trade it for points. It supports online multiplayer and offline matches against CPU rivals. he soundtrack mixes new music with the upbeat energy the series is known for.

Once Upon a Katamari Launches October 24 with Bonus for Returning Fans
Once Upon a Katamari launches October 24, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will be available in both a Standard Edition and a Deluxe “King of All Sounds” Edition.
If you have save data from Katamari Damacy REROLL or We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie, you’ll unlock a special bonus: a playable Young King character when the game launches. Bandai Namco’s saving more details for later, but the trailer already shows off the new look, time-travel stages, and classic charm.
