Nintendo has released a new overview trailer for Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, revealing major upgrades coming to the party game when it hits Nintendo Switch 2 on July 24. The new edition adds new ways to play, including camera support, microphone mini-games, and full-body movement features that take advantage of Switch 2’s hardware.

Jamboree TV adds even more variety, with new rule sets, co-op challenges, and online support for up to four players. The trailer also confirms Game Share support and a paid upgrade path for those who already own the original game on Nintendo Switch.

Here’s a breakdown of everything new shown in the trailer.

New Ways to Party with Mario, Bowser, and Friends

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition adds three new game modes alongside exclusive features powered by the system’s hardware.

In Mario Party mode, the new CameraPlay feature lets up to four users appear on screen using a connected camera, letting everyone see each other’s faces in real time. This mode also adds two new rule sets: Tag Team, which lets pairs collect coins and stars together using a shared dice mechanic, and Frenzy Rules, a fast-paced five-turn challenge where each person starts with a star, 50 coins, and a double dice item.

Bowser Live brings motion-based mini-games to the stage. If you have a camera connected, you’ll appear directly in-game and use full-body movement to complete challenges. Mini-games using the system’s built-in microphone are also included. The final challenge in this mode is a call-and-response game where you try to win over Bowser.

Carnival Coaster offers a different type of ride, literally. This mode uses mouse controls to shoot enemies while riding a virtual coaster. Thanks to HD Rumble 2, you’ll feel every bump and rumble, and jump into co-op mini-games through pipes along the way. Performance in these games adds more time to reach the end of each course. There are five coasters to ride through: Carnival Coaster, Volcano Coaster, Haunted Coaster, Sky-High Coaster, and Trial Coaster. Each one has its own level of difficulty.

Online Play, Game Share, and Upgrade Options

You won’t have to party alone. Super Mario Party Jamboree on Nintendo Switch 2 supports online play for up to four people across all the new modes. Whether you’re using a camera, microphone, or mouse controls, everyone can join in from home.

If you’re playing in person, Game Share makes it even easier. Only one person needs to own the game. With GameShare, up to three others can join locally on Nintendo Switch 2 without owning the game themselves. Some content can also be shared from Switch 2 to original Nintendo Switch systems. It’s a great way to get everyone on the board without extra downloads.

Already have Super Mario Party Jamboree on Nintendo Switch? You won’t need to buy the full game again. There’s a paid upgrade that gives you access to everything new, Switch 2 features, Jamboree TV, and all the extra modes.
