Nickelodeon is bringing some of its biggest characters together in a new action RPG called Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny. It was first revealed during Summer Game Fest 2025, and now it has a release date. The game arrives September 30 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

A new extended trailer just dropped, giving a better look at the real-time combat and showing off a few more characters. You’ll be able to play as SpongeBob SquarePants, Sandy Cheeks, Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Timmy Turner from The Fairly OddParents. More are on the way, but these are the confirmed picks so far.

Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny mixes action combat with fantasy themes. You’ll explore different Nickelodeon-themed worlds, fight off enemies, level up your abilities, and upgrade your weapons. The game also supports local co-op for up to four people, so you can jump in with friends on the couch if that’s your thing.

Combat, Characters, and Couch Co-op

The new extended trailer gives a much better look at how Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny actually plays. It’s a real-time action RPG with fast, cartoon-style combat. You’ll use melee attacks, magic, and character-specific skills to clear out waves of enemies. The pace looks quick, with lots of movement and flashy effects.

Each character brings something different to the fight. In the trailer, SpongeBob can attack with Bubble Blast, heal himself using a Pretty Patty, and deal big damage after transforming into Goofy Goober form. It’s a fun mix of support and offense, and there’s still more to be revealed.

You can play on your own or with up to three others in local co-op. If you’re teaming up, each of you picks a different Nicktoon and works together to handle the action. If you’re playing by yourself, you’ll still be able to build up your character by unlocking abilities and upgrading weapons.

The trailer also teases several fantasy zones, each with its own look and enemy types. These areas are based on different Nickelodeon shows, but we haven’t seen all of them yet. What’s clear is that the game leans into light RPG elements without getting too complex, which might work well for casual group sessions.
