Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Begin April 24 in U.S. and Canada

Nintendo has officially confirmed that retail pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 will begin in both the United States and Canada on April 24, 2025. The base model will launch at $449.99 USD and $629.99 CAD, while the previously announced Mario Kart World bundle will be available for $499.99 USD and $699.99 CAD.

This announcement comes after a brief delay that left many fans wondering when pre-orders would go live. In a statement, Nintendo acknowledged the delay and expressed hope that this update clears up the uncertainty.

No Changes to Game Prices at Launch

Nintendo also confirmed that prices for first-party launch titles will remain the same. Mario Kart World will still retail for $79.99 USD, and Donkey Kong Bananza is set at $69.99 USD, whether purchased physically or digitally.

Both games are scheduled to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.

Accessory Prices Adjusted Due to Market Conditions

While console and game pricing remains unchanged, Nintendo noted that Switch 2 accessories will see price adjustments from what was previously announced on April 2. The company cited changes in market conditions as the reason, and added that additional product pricing may be adjusted in the future depending on those same factors.
