In its first four days on the market, Nintendo Switch 2 sales have surpassed more than 3.5 million units worldwide. This is according to internal data from Nintendo. The console, which launched on June 5, is now the fastest-selling system in Nintendo history.

Nintendo Switch 2 introduces several new hardware features, including a larger screen capable of full 1080p resolution in handheld mode. It also offers 4K output when docked to a compatible display. The console is powered by a faster processor that supports improved graphics and performance. Moreover, it ships with redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers that attach magnetically and offer mouse-like precision.

Doug Bowser, President and COO of Nintendo of America, said in a statement that the company is “thankful for the response” from fans. He is pleased to see players “already having fun” with the system, and optimistic about upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 sales reaching even greater heights.

The launch lineup includes Mario Kart World, a major new entry in the racing series. The game introduces an interconnected open world with dynamic weather and up to 24 simultaneous racers. This is the highest in franchise history. Read our full review here.

Looking ahead, Nintendo anticipates that games like Donkey Kong Bananza, a new 3D platformer exclusive to Switch 2, will help maintain high sales momentum as players eagerly await its release on July 17.
