Overthrown Launches its Second Major Update

Overthrown update

Maximum Entertainment has rolled out a significant content update for Overthrown, its city builder currently in Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview. Titled the ‘Nature Update,’ this second major expansion introduces new buildings, environmental zones, weapons, and quality-of-life improvements to enhance the kingdom-building mayhem.

Since launching in Early Access, Overthrown has kept players engaged with its unpredictable gameplay, where everything can be flung skyward. The ‘Nature Update’ expands on this formula with the introduction of new tree species and environmental zones. These add variety to the landscape. The update also brings a host of new buildings and citizens with unique abilities to Overthrown. Allowing players to further customize their growing kingdom.

Key Features of the Nature Update for Overthrown:

  • New Buildings & Roles: Builder’s Workshop & Builders, Forager’s Hut & Foragers, Weaving Mill & Weavers.
  • Decorative Props: Scarecrows, hay feeders, and soldier posts.
  • New Weapon: The Greathammer, a powerful tool for destruction.
  • Expanded Citizen Abilities: New roles and interactions for citizens.
  • Enhanced Lighting & UI Overhaul: Improved visuals and accessibility.
  • Bowling Effect for Boulders: Adds a new layer of physics-based chaos.
  • New Theatres & Bards: Introducing cultural elements to settlements.

With this latest update, Overthrown continues to develop ahead of its eventual full release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5. Full patch notes are available on the game’s Steam page.
