Plants vs. Zombies is back. EA and PopCap just announced Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, a remastered take on the original backyard battle. It’s launching October 23, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

This updated version brings back the classic lane defense gameplay with a fresh coat of HD paint. It also adds local co-op, PvP, and some brand-new content. There’s even a new mode called Cloudy Day that changes how you collect sunlight and plant defenses.

Classic Lawn Defense with New Twists

The original lane defense formula is still here, but Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted adds a bunch of fun extras. You’ll drop into your backyard, line up your plants, and take on waves of zombies just like before. Everything’s been redone in HD, so it all looks a lot sharper while keeping that goofy style the series is known for.

There’s local co-op if you want to team up with a friend, and a new PvP mode for when things get competitive. Both modes are local only, so you’ll need to be on the same screen. Cloudy Day Mode shakes things up by limiting your sunlight and planting options, making every move count a little more.

The classic minigames are back too, and there’s a vault of bonus content that shows off some early series history most people haven’t seen before.

Whether you’re jumping back in or trying it for the first time, it looks like Replanted will bring a mix of old favorites and new surprises.
