PlayStation Plus Gets Some Bangers This August

Three panels: a surfing knight, fantasy anime characters in armor, and Spider-Man swinging through a city.

Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for August, with all titles set to arrive on August 19 for Extra and Premium subscribers of PlayStation Plus August. The update features a mix of recent blockbusters, indie releases, and classic titles, along with a notable day-one launch.

Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5)

Marvel’s Spider-Man (PS5, PS4)

Swing through Marvel’s New York as Peter Parker in Insomniac’s action-adventure, available in its Remastered edition for PS5 and Game of the Year edition for PS4 as part of PlayStation Plus August.

Launching directly into the Game Catalog, this atmospheric “surfing” adventure from the creators of Journey blends high-speed hoversword traversal with exploration.

Earth Defense Force 6 (PS5, PS4)

Defend what’s left of humanity against swarms of alien invaders in the latest installment of the co-op shooter series.

Unicorn Overlord (PS5, PS4)

Coral Island (PS5)

Coral Island invites players to leave city life behind to farm, raise animals, and help restore coral reefs while befriending a vibrant community of over 70 characters.

Extras for Premium members

Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis join the Premium Classics catalog in their original PlayStation versions, now enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and visual filter options, as part of PlayStation Plus August.

Premium members will also be able to try Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for up to five hours starting August 19, with progress and trophies carrying over to the full game.
