This month’s lineup leans a bit darker. You’ve got deadly puppets, desperate survival, and anime battles packed with flashy powers. Whether you’re fighting through Lies of P, trying to stay alive in DayZ, or going head-to-head in My Hero One’s Justice 2, there’s plenty of action to dig into.
PlayStation Plus Games August 2025
Lies of P
PS5, PS4
This one’s for fans of tough action games. Lies of P puts a dark spin on Pinocchio, dropping you into a ruined city full of deadly puppets. You play as P, a puppet searching for Geppetto, and things get weird fast. Combat feels weighty and deliberate, with a bunch of weapons and special arm attachments called Legion Arms that change how you fight. There are choices to make too, including whether to lie or not. It’s moody, stylish and definitely not your usual fairy tale.
DayZ
PS4
DayZ drops you into a huge open world where survival is everything. You start with almost nothing and have to scavenge for food, gear and weapons. The infected are a problem, but other survivors can be even worse. One bad run-in, and you could lose everything. No checkpoints, no saves. Just you trying to stay alive as long as possible. It’s tense, unpredictable and full of those “barely made it out” moments. If you like survival games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s worth a shot.
My Hero One’s Justice 2
PS4
If you’re into My Hero Academia, this is a fun one to check out. It’s a 3D arena fighter that lets you play as your favourite heroes and villains from the anime. You’ll pull off wild combos and screen-filling super moves using each character’s Quirks. The fights are fast, chaotic and full of flashy moments. Whether you’re going through the story or jumping into local or online matches, it’s a solid pick for fans who want to dive into the world of My Hero.
Last Chance to Grab July’s PlayStation Plus Games
If you haven’t grabbed July’s lineup yet, there’s still time. Diablo IV, The King of Fighters XV and Jusant will be available until August 4. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Make sure to add them to your library before the new games drop.
