Sony has announced that the current version of PlayStation Stars, its loyalty program launched in 2022, is coming to a close. As of May 21, 2025, new sign-ups have been disabled, and existing members will no longer be able to rejoin if they cancel. While the program is winding down, current members can continue earning points, completing campaigns, and collecting digital rewards until July 23, 2025.
Here’s what you need to know about the shutdown timeline and what stays available.
Key Dates and What’s Changing
PlayStation Stars campaigns, levels, and rewards will remain active until July 23, 2025, at 7:59 a.m. PT. After that, you won’t be able to earn any more points, level up, or take part in new campaigns.
If you have unused points, you can still redeem them through the Rewards Catalog as long as they haven’t expired. Points will continue to work until the program’s final closure. The current version of PlayStation Stars will officially end on November 2, 2026. After that date, the program will no longer be accessible.
If you choose to leave the program by cancelling your PlayStation Stars membership through your account settings, you’ll lose any unused points and won’t be able to rejoin. This change went into effect on May 21, 2025, and applies to all current members.
What Happens to Your Collectibles
Even after PlayStation Stars ends, your digital collectibles are still yours. You’ll be able to keep and view them, even if you leave the program or after it fully shuts down in 2026.
Sony hasn’t shared what might replace PlayStation Stars, but the company says it’s exploring new ways to evolve its loyalty program efforts in the future.
