It’s been relatively quiet on the Netflix Games front as of late, with Netflix restructuring its gaming division, which included cutting back on developing massive Triple A games and focusing on creating games based on popular Netflix media franchises, such as Rebel Moon. However, a new report has revealed the number of downloads that Netflix’s most popular mobile game, GTA San Andreas, has received. So let’s dive into the news.

GTA Trilogy on Netflix

So, How Big Has GTA San Andreas Been For Netflix?

GTA San Andreas is one of the most beloved games in the GTA series and was released on Netflix Games as part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy; however, it has also become the most popular on Netflix Games’ mobile games, with 48.3 million downloads of GTA San Andreas via Netflix’s mobile game service. To put the number of people into perspective, roughly one in six people who have Netflix have downloaded GTA San Andreas through the video streaming service.

GTA San Andreas is the largest game to launch on Netflix to date, with Squid Game Unleashed in second place, having achieved only 20.7 million downloads despite its free-to-play launch. GTA San Andreas was released alongside fellow games GTA 3 and GTA Vice City; however, those games were removed from Netflix Games last year. As of right now, there is no news on when/if Netflix will be removing GTA San Andreas from its subscription; however, due to the success of this one game and it still receiving millions of downloads every month, it’s likely Netflix will try to keep it on the platform for quite a while.
