Dotemu and Tribute Games expand the cosmic beat ’em up’s roster with two more fan-favourite characters and a brand new gameplay trailer. During Summer Game Fest, a new new trailer for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion was shown. She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon were confirmed as playable characters. The two superheroes bring unique powers and personality to the tag-team brawler’s growing roster.
Set in a pixel art style inspired by classic ’90s Marvel comics, the latest footage shows the new duo battling enemies like sentinels, Sauron, and even Thanos. Both She-Hulk and Rocket bring their own twist to the fight, with Rocket flinging grenades and She-Hulk tossing enemies with pure strength.
New Characters Bring Chaos and Strength to the Tag-Team Action
She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon join a growing lineup of playable heroes in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, each with distinct abilities and fighting styles. She-Hulk uses her gamma-powered strength to grab and slam enemies across the screen, trading courtroom battles for physical ones. Rocket Raccoon focuses on firepower, combining blasters with grenades for unpredictable, high-damage attacks.
The trailer showcases the pair teaming up against a wide range of Marvel villains, including sentinels, Thanos, and Sauron. The game’s Cosmic Swap system lets you tag between two characters mid-fight, allowing for creative combos and custom team-ups. Each hero has unique special attacks, letting you experiment with different pairings to find what works best.
In addition to the two new fighters, Dotemu confirmed the roster now includes Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Storm, Phyla-Vell, Venom, and Nova. The full lineup will feature 15 characters when the game launches, with more reveals on the way.
Cosmic Threats, Tag-Team Combat, and a 2025 Launch
The full trailer didn’t just show off new characters, it also gave a better look at what you’ll be fighting for. In MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, Annihilus has launched an all-out assault on the galaxy. Heroes from Earth and beyond are teaming up to stop the Annihilation Wave before it destroys everything in its path.
You’ll fight through locations like New York City and the Negative Zone, swapping between two characters mid-battle using the game’s Cosmic Swap system. That tag-team setup adds variety to every fight and opens the door for unique combos. The game also supports four-player co-op with drop-in, drop-out play, both locally and online, with full crossplay.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is expected to launch in 2025 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox. Who’s your go-to duo so far in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion? Are you teaming up with She-Hulk or Rocket? Let us know below.
