SEGA has brought Sonic back to Amazon Luna with the arrival of Sonic Superstars, now available to play through the Luna+ subscription. The last mainline Sonic title added to Luna was Sonic Frontiers, which arrived last December.
This new release brings the classic 2D side-scrolling experience back with a modern twist. Sonic Superstars features 3D visuals in a 2.5D gameplay style, combining traditional platforming with new mechanics powered by the Chaos Emeralds. The game supports solo play or co-op for up to four players, with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy as playable characters.
SEGA’s decision to bring another Sonic title to Amazon’s cloud gaming service may signal a stronger push to support Luna. By expanding availability, SEGA is making its flagship franchise more accessible across a variety of devices. Hopefully, we’ll see more of their titles on Luna in the future, at least those previously available like Yakuza.
Players on Amazon Luna can also purchase the Modern Amy skin separately, giving Amy Rose a new look inspired by her latest appearances in the series.
