Sony’s COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki started the presentation at CES 2025 by doubling down on Sony’s core philosophy: Kando.
In Japanese, Kando is a word meant to express the power of a deep emotional connection tied to an experience or a performance of creativity.
He took time to celebrate Astro Bot wining GOTY and the release of the PS5 Pro, then went on to present multiple ways Sony has been working with creators
The presentation then went on about Sony’s partnership with the NFL, the upcoming Sony Mobility Afeela 1 smart car that is now open for preorder in California starting at $89,900 and the XYN Spatial Capture Solution.
There was then a presentation by Aniplex and Crunchyroll where a Ghost of Tsushima anime based on the Legends multiplayer game mode was announced.
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Production went on to announce the production of a Helldivers movie, a Horizon Zero Dawn movie (after the cancelation of the Netflix TV show) and Neil Druckmann presented footage of the upcoming Season 2 of The Last of Us TV series that will air this upcoming April on Max after mentioning an interactive experience based on The Last of Us at the CES.
All in all, Sony made a solid CES presentation for 2025, where technology was presented to be at the service of creativity. We also got some pretty cool announcement for gaming related movies and shows.
