Street Fighter 6 Wraps Up Year 2 With Elena’s Return on June 5

Capcom has announced that Elena is joining the Street Fighter 6 roster on June 5, 2025, as the final Year 2 character. The fan-favorite capoeira fighter returns with her signature flowing kicks, high mobility, and a few new tricks. She’ll be available across all platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Her debut trailer, titled The Onryō’s List, shows off a fresh look, classic moves, and a brand-new stage set under the moonlit African plains. Alongside Elena’s arrival, Street Fighter 6 is also getting a major balance patch and the release of the Years 1–2 Fighters Edition, with pre-orders now live for Switch 2.

Whether you’re here for the kicks, the music, or the healing dance, Elena is ready to join the fight. Here’s what to expect from Elena’s arrival—and how she completes Year 2’s roster.

Elena’s Moveset and Gameplay Details

Elena joins Street Fighter 6 with a flexible, kick-heavy moveset rooted in capoeira. She uses long-range attacks and movement-based specials to keep pressure on her opponents while staying hard to lock down.

Some of her returning moves include Scratch Wheel for anti-air and Spinning Scythe for combos. Her new special, Lynx Song, leads into several options like Leopard Snap, Harvest Circle, and Mallet Smash, giving her room to mix things up. If you extend the sequence with Lynx Whirl, these moves gain new properties.

Her Super Arts give more ways to control a match. Meteor Volley works as anti-air, Revival Dance can deal damage or restore health, and Song of the Grasslands delivers a strong finisher. With tools to dodge, close distance, or interrupt, Elena rewards mobility and timing over brute force.

New Stage and Outfit Details

Elena arrives with a new stage called Reniala Remains, set on the African plains at night. It features roaming wildlife, glowing moonlight, and a wide open feel that matches her graceful style. The setting is subtle but detailed, filled with visual touches that nod to Elena’s heritage.

She also has two outfits. Outfit 1 is her new look in Street Fighter 6, blending athletic gear with bright colors. Outfit 2 brings back her classic design from Street Fighter III and Ultra Street Fighter IV. You can unlock it by maxing out your bond with her in World Tour, or buy it with Fighter Coins.

The visual updates keep her grounded in tradition while fitting into the newer look of Street Fighter 6.

Elena’s Launch Wraps Up Year 2 and Kicks Off Switch 2 Launch

Elena is the fourth and final character of Street Fighter 6’s Year 2 lineup, joining M. Bison, Terry, and Mai. With her arrival on June 5, all four Year 2 fighters will be available for anyone with the Year 2 Character Pass, Ultimate Pass, or the full Years 1–2 Fighters Edition.

That same day also marks the game’s debut on Nintendo Switch 2. The Years 1–2 Fighters Edition will launch on all platforms, including Switch 2, with pre-orders for that version now live. It includes all 26 characters from both years, multiple outfits, and 20 stages.

The Switch 2 version introduces a few platform-specific features, including Tabletop Mode, Gyro Battles, Local Wireless One on One, and Avatar Matches, giving users more flexibility in how and where they play. A major balance update is also coming with Elena’s release. Capcom confirmed changes for all 25 existing characters along with system-wide adjustments. Full patch notes are expected ahead of launch.
