The Blood of Dawnwalker Brings Vampire Action RPG Ambitions to Bandai Namco’s Lineup

Bandai Namco spotlighted The Blood of Dawnwalker during the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2025, giving another look at the upcoming action RPG from new studio Rebel Wolves. While the game is still set for a 2026 release, the trailer reminded fans why it is already generating buzz.

The Blood of Dawnwalker takes place in Veil Sangora, a remote valley in 14th-century southern Europe, where humanity is being wiped out by vampires and monstrous beasts. You play as Coen, a man racing against time to save his family from a vampire lord. He has just 30 days to act, and a dangerous curse that grants him vampiric powers after sunset.

Choice-Driven Storytelling and Dual Gameplay Loop

The game blends melee combat, supernatural abilities, and choice-driven storytelling in what the developers call a “narrative sandbox.” You decide how to approach goals and shape Coen’s journey. It also features a dual gameplay loop. During the day, you fight as a human with sword skills and magic. At night, Coen becomes a vampire with enhanced speed and strength, but those powers come at a cost. Feeding is necessary, and losing control could mean hurting someone important to you.

Rebel Wolves may be a new name, but the team includes industry veterans who previously worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director of The Witcher 3, is leading the project.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A firm release date has not been announced, but it is currently scheduled for 2026.
