On August 26, the galactic fight for Managed Democracy gets a major boost as Helldivers 2 lands on Xbox Series X|S. This isn’t just a new platform launch. It’s a celebratory drop with a very special, Xbox-themed surprise: the Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond.
Inspired by the storied heroes of the UNSC’s Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. This new Warbond re-imagines what it means to be an elite soldier. In the world of Helldivers, ODST stands for “Obedient Democracy Support Troopers.” A perfect fit for a squad that prizes obedience and spreading freedom with ruthless efficiency.
The Warbond packs equipment inspired by the iconic look and feel of those celebrated soldiers. Including new weapons, armour, and more.
Weapons of Liberty
The new Warbond arms you with four classic weapons, each bringing a unique punch to the battlefield.
- MA5C Assault Rifle – A reliable workhorse, this rifle has taken down countless aliens in its history. In Helldivers 2, it comes with a handy ammo counter and built-in compass to guide you toward victory.
- M7S SMG – Silent and deadly, this SMG uses caseless ammo and has a non-removable suppressor. It is built for quiet, efficient strikes against the enemies of Managed Democracy.
- M90A Shotgun – A powerful shotgun with a serious kick. With its mounted flashlight, the M90A lets you see the fear in your enemy’s eyes. Just before you teach them a valuable lesson about liberty.
- M6C/SOCOM Pistol – This standard-issue sidearm is now your silent ally. For the first time in Helldivers 2, it features a built-in suppressor to support stealth gameplay, along with a laser sight and flashlight.
Helljumper Armor
Show off your support for Democracy with two new armor sets and a unique passive ability.
- A-9 Helljumper – Designers first showcased this sleek ensemble at the New Mombasa Armour Show, where it was designed to turn heads.
- A-35 Recon – This armour, which the Ministry of Intelligence’s hide-and-seek-and-destroy champion made famous, now features a more streamlined profile after we removed its excess shoulder protection.
- Feet First Armour Passive – Both armour sets come with this unique passive. It allows your Helljumper to move with less noise. It makes them immune to leg injuries and increases the range at which they can discover points of interest by 30%.
Capes and More
Beyond weapons and armor, the new Warbond includes other special items to help you show your support for Democracy.
- Honored Heirloom Cape – In the event of your heroic death, this cape is customarily passed down to your bravest child, inspiring the next generation of freedom fighters.
- Eye of the Clandestine Cape – For those who fight from the shadows, this cape is worn by those who move like ghosts in the night, serving Liberty anonymously.
- Additional Rewards – The Warbond also comes with ODST-themed player cards, a new player title, “Rookie,” and a new vehicle pattern in a familiar “Mean Green” color.
How Legendary Warbonds Work
For new players, Warbonds are optional collections of in-game rewards that you can purchase through the Acquisitions Centre. The great thing about Warbonds is that they never expire. You can take as long as you need to unlock all the content inside.
The Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond introduces a brand new tier to the game. You can unlock it for 1,500 Super Credits, which you can either earn in-game or purchase. Just remember, the new Premium Warbond Tokens won’t unlock Legendary Warbonds. These are also launching on August 26.
With the release of Helldivers 2 on Xbox and this incredible new collaboration, many players are no doubt excited about the future. But the question we have is, will this come to the “Stream Your Own Games” library in the future?
