Xbox Canada’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Skate Hang took over Toronto with a day of skating, games, and giveaways. The event was held in downtown Toronto and mixed local skate culture with hands-on access of the demo to the upcoming remake. You could play the demo, watch live ramp sessions, grab Taco Bell snacks, and even get flash tattoos inspired by the game.

A DJ kept the soundtrack pumping while the graffiti walls and CRT skate videos set the vibe. With Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 launching July 11, this felt less like a demo event and more like a fan celebration. Earlier this year, THPS Fest revealed the full park list, returning skaters, and new soundtrack details, setting the stage for what fans could experience in person.

A Look Around the Skate Hang

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Skate Hang wasn’t just about trying the game. It was a full-on throwback celebration, packed with things to see, do, and eat. Inside the venue, the live ramp jam kicked off with local skaters pulling off tricks while the THPS soundtrack blasted from the DJ booth. Demo stations were set up beside skate-inspired decor, including graffiti walls and CRTs looping classic skate videos.

Free Taco Bell and Red Bull kept everyone fuelled. You could grab a snack, watch a few runs, and jump right back into the game. Xbox Canada even had flash tattoo artists offering designs inspired by the series. It felt more like a community event than a promo. People hung out, shared tips, and talked about their favourite levels and soundtracks from past games.

The space wasn’t huge, but it was packed with energy. Whether you came for the skating, the game, or just the vibe, it had something for you. Xbox Canada pulled off a great event that brought the community together and nailed the tone of the series.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Demo Impressions

The Foundry demo was front and centre at the Skate Hang, giving everyone a chance to try Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 before launch. It featured two levels, three skaters, and two-minute Single Sessions that brought back the series’ classic arcade flow. You can check out the Foundry Demo on Game Pass or with a pre-order.

If you’ve played the THPS 1+2 remake, the gameplay here feels just as tight. Controls are responsive and easy to relearn, with all the usual grinds, manuals, and flips ready to chain together. Within minutes, most people were back in the rhythm, chasing combos and landing specials like no time had passed.

The two demo levels had different strengths. Foundry, from THPS 3, is small but packed with lines and vertical spots. You can link grinds past molten metal, boost off ramps, and wrap around the map smoothly. College, from THPS 4, is much larger and more open. It’s designed for missions, so it feels a bit too spread out for short sessions. You can adjust timer lengths in the full game, but at the event, most people stuck to tighter routes to maximize score.

You could skate as Tony Hawk or Rayssa Leal in the demo. The soundtrack had serious late ’90s and early 2000s energy, with six tracks spanning hip hop, punk, and metal. Run The Jewels, Lupe Fiasco, CKY, and Motorhead were all in the mix. Paired with the FMV-style intro and old skate videos playing on CRTs, it really nailed the vibe of that era.

It wasn’t a huge demo, but it left a strong impression. Most people didn’t just play once. They kept lining up for another run.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Launches Soon and the Hype Feels Earned

With Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 just weeks away from launch, Xbox Canada’s THPS Skate Hang was the perfect way to build excitement. Between the live skating, demo stations, soundtrack, and community turnout, it struck the right balance of fun and fan service. The demo delivered exactly what longtime fans were hoping for, while still being easy to pick up for newcomers.

If you missed the event, you can still check out the Foundry Demo on Game Pass or with a pre-order. It includes two levels and a solid look at what the full game has in store. You can also read about Jack Black’s return as Officer Dick and Constable Richard, bringing some over-the-top humour back to the roster.

The full launch is coming July 11 across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo platforms. Based on what we’ve played so far, this remake feels like it’s in good hands. If you’re ready to grind, flip, and combo your way back into the series, now’s the time to start warming up.
