The retro gaming cloud gaming platform Antstream Arcade houses 1300+ retro games coming from seventeen different game platforms like NES, SNES, SEGA Genesis and various Atari systems. In this article, we cover the best 2D and 3D platforming games on Antstream Arcade. Check them out if you want to play some retro gems. let’s dive in.
Glover:
Let’s start with one of the most interesting platformers I have seen in a long time, Glover. In this 3D action game, you play as an anthropomorphic glove known as Glover, who is on a mission to restore the Crystal Kingdom. This game made waves back when it was re-released on modern platforms as it was originally released on the Nintendo 64 and the original PlayStation. Glover is one of the most enjoyable platforming games on the Antstream Arcade platform.
Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja:
The next game on our list is the arcade platforming action game Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja. In this game, you must explore the prehistoric lands of the past and battle dinosaurs as the titular caveman ninjas Joe and Mac. This game was developed and published by former Japanese arcade juggernaut Data East. This is a well-known arcade classic so if you haven’t played it on Antstream Arcade yet, you are missing out.
Grebit:
The next game on our list is a platforming game on a technicality. If you’re looking at the game above and thinking “Woah Frogger is on Antstream Arcade?” well kind of, the game above is a “Frogger-inspired” game Grebit. Grebit is a classic arcade-style game where you have to cross the street and the rivers to beat the levels. You must avoid cars and trucks and hop on logs to beat the levels. There are three versions of this game on Antstream, each slightly different due to the systems they were developed for.
Flea:
The next game on our list is a classic amongst retro homebrew enthusiasts, Flea. Developed by the developer Lowtek Games and inspired by the ADHD urge to keep moving Flea is a game for the ages. You play as a bouncing Flea who never stops jumping, you must guide your flea and collect vials of blood in order to progress, but watch out if you move your bouncing Flea the wrong way then it could be fatal. This game is one of my personal favourite games from the homebrew indie scene on retro consoles so this game had to make the list.
Doodle World:
The next game on our list is an incredible indie game made by a daddy-daughter team. Doodle World is a must-play. You play as Doodle who must take on the evil King Eraser and his office supply minions who have stolen the magical crayon. You traverse five different worlds over fifteen levels and collect crayons and battle bosses as you work to retrieve the magical crayon. This game was originally developed for the NES and features an all-new “kids mode” for younger gamers. This is one of the best indie platforming games on Antstream and I hope you all check it out.
Zool:
The final game on our list is Zool, which is a platforming game where you play as a sweet-obsessed gremlin who lands on Earth to gain his ninja ranking and must run and jump across seven different lands and battle a boss at the end of each of them. Zool was originally developed for the Amiga line of home computers and was marketed as a rival to Nintendo’s Super Mario and Sega’s Sonic The Hedgehog (obviously we all know what happened to most platforming mascots during the era). If you want a high-speed and colorful platforming game, check out Zool on Antstream Arcade.
